Theory of mind can be defined as the capacity to attribute intentional states to other people. The fundamental characteristic of the intentional stance consists on attributing beliefs and desires to an agent in order to explain and predict her / his behavior (Dennett, 1971). This test assesses specifically the ability to comprehend communicative intentions from the employment of non-literal senses (this one being of the most complex capacities of the theory of mind).
