Word list learning

One of the paradigms that is most frequently used to study both short- and long-term memory consists on the presentation of lists of words. Subjects must recall as many words as they can after the list has been presented to them. This activity is repeated a couple of times, and it allows to observe the learning curve (i.e., the evolution of the subject’s responses as a product of successive trials). Due to the fact that episodic memory involves a series of processes (codification, storage and retrieval), it is also frequent to ask for delayed recall, cued recall and recognition. In this experiment, two lists with different characteristics are presented. You must do the task with both lists, and then analyze the differences in your performance considering the attributes of the lists. You will be able to read the conclusions once you finish with list B.
